It’s not commonly known that Alfred Hitchcock’s 1956 version of the Jimmy Stewart classic The Man Who Knew Too Much was not his first. He’d originally filmed the story in 1934, but he yearned to do it again, but better. Given that most of us have forgotten the first version, he clearly succeeded.
